Chief of Air Force flag

The Chief of Air Force (formerly Chief of Air Staff) flag is a vertical tricolour air force blue-dark blue-air force blue fimbriated red, with a gold wedge-tailed eagle overall. The colours are derived from triangular shoulder patches worn by members of the Australian Flying Corps during World War I.

The Chief of Air Staff formerly flew the RAAF Ensign.

According to the RAAF Manual of Ceremonial, AAP 5135.002, which is downloadable at this Air Cadet Corps site, and the Army Ceremonial Manual (PDF), this is a masthead flag only, as described for the Chief of Defence Force. The Chief of Air Force, along with Air Advisor / Attache, flies the RAAF Ensign as a car flag.

Minister of Air flag
